As part of our ongoing commitment to instructional excellence and continuous improvement, Charles Evans Hughes Elementary School will conduct a Schoolwide Interdependent Learning Task, Higher-Order Thinking, and Equity-Focused Walkthrough on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
This instructional walkthrough will provide an opportunity for our school community to observe and celebrate high-quality teaching and learning across classrooms. During this time, visitors will have the opportunity to see students actively engaged in rigorous, collaborative learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and equitable access to instruction.
The focus of the walkthrough will include:
- Interdependent Learning Tasks that require students to collaborate, communicate, and learn from one another.
- Higher-Order Thinking through rigorous, standards-based instruction that encourages analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving.
- Equity-Focused Practices that ensure all students have access to meaningful learning opportunities, high expectations, and appropriate instructional supports.
This event reflects our shared commitment to providing engaging, student-centered instruction that prepares every scholar for success in college, career, and life. It also provides an opportunity for educators to reflect on instructional practices and celebrate the outstanding work taking place throughout our school.
