I hope this message finds you well.
I am reaching out on behalf of the students of Charles E. Hughes Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. During the 2026–2027 school year, our students will have the opportunity to participate in an educational trip to Washington, D.C., where they will experience our nation’s history, government, culture, and monuments firsthand.
Many of our students come from underserved communities and may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in a life-changing educational experience such as this. We are seeking donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, churches, and community partners who are willing to invest in the future of our students.
The cost of the trip is approximately $1,499 per student. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will directly support student participation.
Examples of sponsorship opportunities include:
• $100 – Supports educational activities and materials
• $250 – Partial student sponsorship
• $500 – Significant student sponsorship
• $1,000 – Major student sponsorship
• $1,499 – Full student sponsorship
All donations will be processed through Charles E. Hughes Elementary School in accordance with Chicago Public Schools policies and procedures.

To comply with CPS requirements, all donors must provide a brief donation letter stating the purpose of the donation. A sample donation letter is attached below for your convenience.
